Company vehicles such as; company cars, rental cars, courtesy cars, demonstrators, parts vans, etc are all 'work equipment'.

 

The H&S requirements for vehicles are; statutory inspection (MoT at 3 years), preventive maintenance, inspection before use, they may only be used by trained persons.

 

The same principles apply to all 'work equipment'.

 

The RAC have recently reported inspecting 21,370 company vehicles and found 16% un-roadworthy.

 

That is around 3500 unsafe vehicles out of that small sample.

 

Obviously we all take care and pride in presentation of our cars for sale, it is important that ‘other’ categories of vehicle are not overlooked.

 

It would be indefensible if a dealership provided an unsafe vehicle.
