Sales Display Ramps

The ‘see-saw’ type ramps that are often used to display sales cars outside or inside dealerships do constitute a piece of Work Equipment and therefore those persons using them need to have been instructed in their safe use. This implies inspecting the equipment before use and following the manufacturers instructions (which should be readily available) in operation. As these items lift both a car and a person, they should be considered as coming under Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and as such should have a statutory inspection carried out by an insurance engineer every 6 months (Thorough Examination by Competent Person per the regulations.
